I joined the Lüscher lab in December, 2012 after completing my PhD in pharmacology at the University of Toronto. My graduate work in Dr. José Nobrega’s lab at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health was aimed at determining mechanisms underlying the anti-dyskinetic effects of deep brain stimulation (DBS) applied to different basal ganglia nuclei. Currently, my goal is to determine if DBS can alter synaptic plasticity in mesolimbic reward circuitry and associated behaviour induced by exposure to drugs of abuse.
